Great Harvest
Kath and I just walked a mile and a half to Great Harvest. Their Marrionberry Scones hit the spot. We then walked back, making it a three mile outing. Chris, the bat wing span is certainly shorter due to lessened flights!! I hope we can for a walk next week. I can't wait to get back to Black Butte at the start of the year. Been awhile since I've seen Thom and Carol. Tina, I will save a walk for you when you get back in the territory. I am really trying to get back on a normal schedule. I will continue to keep you all posted. Thanks for all your thoughts and comments. Ron

To the Carey Family,
It is ironic that I thought, when I visited today, that I would bring some strength and happiness into Ron's life by my visit. On the contrary, when I drove away after my visit, it was I who was uplifted by the love and magic that exists on Dogwood Avenue in Salem.
From the minute I parked my car, with Ron waiting on the front porch to go for our walk, to his insisting on talking about my family rather than his health, to Kathy's wonderful homemade soup and rolls, to watching the love in Michael and Tiffany's attentive attitude toward their father...
Well, I'm sure I was the one who gained more from our visit.
Francis P. Church once wrote in The New York Sun, to a little girl named Virginia about "...faith, poetry, love, and romance" and went on to state, "Ah, Virginia, in all this world there is nothing else real and abiding."
These attributes are found in abundance on Dogwood Avenue, in Salem, Oregon, today.
Thanks for your friendship and Merry Christmas to all...
