Dad had his Neulasta shot (it might be that word, it might not be) today. This shot is to replace some of things in dad's body that are destroyed by chemo (for example, his platelets - something to do with the blood count). Tomorrow he goes in for his blood test/check up to make sure things are working correctly.
He had a great day. Dr. appt, shopped (Costco, of course), went for a few very long walks, slept last night all on his own (without the help of meds), was a little loopy (thanks to the meds), spent the day sitting (rather than lying on the bed, which has been his usual position) & trying to cough (some mucus in his lungs & we want to avoid the prospect of pneumonia again) & sounds like things are going great! Such a relief after last week!

Ron,
Good to hear you are bouncing back. Is there anything you need me to check at BBR? It was 7 degrees this morning when I took Sadie out to pee. Needless to say, she did not take long. We think of you two often, miss the long walks and conversations. Keep up the recovery. Carol was treated with cancer meds to slow down the MS progression, with patience the immune system returns. You are in our prayers. Thom and carol
Hello, Ron:
How wonderful to hear that you had such a positive day. By shopping at Costco during the holidays, you're showing your true courage and determination!
You're in our prayers daily. Torey, these daily updates are the greatest gift to all of us; thanks again.
Hi Ron
This is Tim Lewis at Sumpter. I'm thinking and praying about you a lot. If God hears a million prayers for a great guy, how can they be ignored! Keep fighting!
Ron, I sure liked your entry which tells me we are a helluva lot more than our bodies. Your spirit is so strong. Hope ya don't mind me adding Griz to your list of nicknames. I think of you as the powerful bear with it's boundless courage, tremendous strength and tender heart looking after its cubs. And like the bear you have stored up a life of good energy for the winter ahead. You are amazing.
Best,
Doug
