January 10

My son, Michael, has beem getting after me for not writing in my blog everyday. I think I will start filling it in every other day unless something comes up. My big thanks again to Doug, Mike, Carl, and my daughter Tory for getting me out on walks the past few days. I am tired of this rain and look forward to a period of dry weather. Keep the snow in the mountains, but give us sun in the valley! A special thanks to Tom Cuttsforth for having a package of Almond Toffee Chocolate candy delivered to my house. The note said that this should help keep the weight on me. It is delicious! Thanks again, Tom. After my 10:15 walk with Carl this morning, I will be making my daily Costco trip with Reed at 12:30. Since I have to keep the weight up, I always grab a slice of pizza from their food court, whether I want it or not. Bill Rupp had dinner with us last night. Always nice to have friends over. He and my wife played Password forv four games while I gave the clues. Score Kath was 4 and Bill was 0. Better luck next time, Bill. I'm always trying to stay busy. Cleaned my roof and gutters off yesterday between the rain showers. Weight is still good at around 175 pounds. Kath has now finished all that she needed to do to make the house ready to show. Now hopefully someone will see it and want it. I am ready to live in a smaller house. We plan to stay in this general area because we love it. Hopefully all will work out. Until later!

Rain is getting to me too Ron. It is trickling across our concrete basement floor here in Corvallis. Haven't seen that in some years.
Next time up I wanna go to Costco with ya and maybe get a bigger umbrella! Or should I just go to the MU ;) And I wanna play Password with you guys. I can be Allan Ludden or even Betty White! : )

Ronald,

Like I said we are ready for you in Phoenix! Get out of the rain. Now, I am not convinced for a second that grabbing a slice of Pie is any hassle to you :). I agree with Michael that you have to update this thing daily as it helps connect me from far away.

I love like always RC and cannot wait to be back up in the North West with all of you soon. Go Blazers and Go Devils!

P.S. Ask Mike if he watched the ASU vs. UA game last night??? That's right

Uh-oh, are we talking smack now, Brad? I am ready.

{ahem}

Yep, it must feel really good now that ASU is 1-12 against UA in the last 13 games. Nice to get that monkey off your back, isn't it? And I would have thought that maybe beating 'Zona without their highest scorer (and with a rookie coach) would have made for a more hollow victory? Considering the number of Devil students who rushed the court after the game, I guess not. :) Love ya, Brad! Although cheers to you guys - you will break the Top 25 after the weekend.

Anyway, love you too Dad! Keep up the Costco trips (and eating that yummy cheese pizza). It does a body good!

Dear Ron,

Thanks for the compliments in your blog. I agree, those chocolate toffees are delicious. They don't last long in our house, either.

I'll call you tomorrow, or today, looking at the time, and see if you can fit me in for a walk.

Keep up the postings, on a daily or every other day basis. It's good to hear you post.

I did go to the Beaver game against Stanford on Thursday. They really do have some talent, but they don't seem to have the spirit necessary to pull it off yet. I hope they can learn from the Blazers that it doesn't mattter what others think about them, only what they believe, and can acheive on their own.

See you soon...

Glad to be able to help you with those Costco runs and walks, Ron. You amaze me with your positive attitude....we'd all do well to take note of it and maybe apply it in our lives!

It's also fun to come into the blog and witness a good old-fashioned smackdown involving "Careys: The Next Generation"! Hate to say it Mike, but ASU just might be better than 'zona this year! It's certainly partly about Lute, but it's more about Sendak and the Devils. Hmm, maybe bringing in a REAL coach CAN make a difference for a lousy basketball program .....memo to the administration at OSU...

Ron, I'm looking forward to getting out on the road with you again today after work. You know, if Jefferson were a true friend, he'd be out there with his wheelchair/crutches trying to keep up with us....just kidding!

Ron,
Becky and I missed you at the wedding but know you had tough work to get done! It meant so much to have Aunt Betty there and the rest of the Carey clan that made it, it was a great day!
I think of you everyday and continue to send positive thoughts and prayers your way. I know you can beat this!
Expect some wedding pix in the mail soon.
Love,
Cousin Bruce and Becky

Enjoyed going to Costco and for a walk yesterday. It was a great way to spend the afternoon, even though you were wearing that hideous orange jacket. At least one of us had the right colors on!

Great walk today. 3.1 miles on hills and I barely keep up with you. Sure enjoying the candy everyone is sending --- keep it coming :)
Have a great weekend with your family --- another reunion at the Wilsonville Costco sounds great.
