January 14

Spent the day running errands with my wife. Didn't have a very good night sleep last night, too many thoughts on my mind. This may be my last blog for a couple of days as I will be checked into OHSU for my next round. I will have to leave it up to my daughters to add any entries. Picked up a new electronic Guesstures game to play with our daughter and son-in-law (Tiff and Andy). While Kath cooked dinner, Andy and Tiff went on a walk with me. I have been fighting queasiness all day. Steak is still the only thing that appeals a little bit to me. I had a bowl of ice cream with Tiff and that didn't even taste that great. Looking forward to dinner tomorrow night with my oldest daughter and my youngest son. Chris will be working so hopefully we can make up a plate for him.

Hope all is well and I look forward to reading all of your comments during my next round beginning on Wednesday. Take care!

Hey Big Ron.....thinking of you as you head north this week. Seems like there must be a connection between your quisiness and watching the Beavers try to play basketball....you just might see a mass of Beaver fans up at OHSU seeking some relief of their own....with the weather so dark and damp, I couldn't help think "road trip" - Elder Sercy and Berman came to mind from our way back Arizona adventure - ties and long sleeve shirts in 106 degree weather....what a sight! You be tough this week and giv'em some "Griz Attitude!" Love you man! OJ

Dear Ron,

To give you something to look forward to, there should be 3 more pounds of that candy coming your way around Friday.

Remember...it's for you. Tell your lovely wife she is already sweet enough.

I have nothing but positive feelings about your visit to the doctors this week. In fact, my feelings for your success run curiously opposite to my feelings about the Beaver's success in basketball this season.

I will, however, be rooting just as hard for both.

Take care, my friend...

Hi Ron,

I/we wanted to wish you well with this next round of chemo. I'm headed off to Argentina, Chile, and the Antarctic on Friday so I won't be able to check up on you via the blog very easily. I'm going to help Ernie learn the "blog way" so he can keep me posted via email. We'll keep you in our prayers and hope for an easier ride this time.

Hey RC,

Looking forward to you beating this. As Harold said Chemo is tough, but so is The Griz. You can do this as you have already proven. I feel for you buddy and hope this next round goes well and is uneventful.

Hi Ron,

Cool blog. I really liked the picture of you out in the snow in your shorts. Is that an icicle between your legs?

Sending you positive thoughts for tomorrow Ron!!
If you need something to distract you tomorrow you can try to remember all the clues, antics, and general maneuvers you used to teach multiplication as I'm launching into that tomorrow such as 12 X 3 = FREAK OUT or BANG HEAD HERE ~~ and then you can send me helpful hints :) I'm glad to be able to be contacting you now as we were lost while cross country skiing this weekend - went in off Highway 22, came out on Highway 20, only 2 miles to schlep to the car right before dark. Hmmm......... l'll be thinkin' of you tomorrow - love ya, Connie

Hey Ron,

Am thinking of ya now up on the hill undergoing round three of treatment. I know you'll get through it just like we did the Wooley Buffalo!
Roen and I leave Monday for a week in Hawaii to celebrate ol' Hammer's 85th birthday. I just talked to my Dad and he sends his best. Shortly after I get back I'll give ya a call. Would love to do another walking route with ya.
