February 3

Just watched my daughter Tory run the Zena Road Run Race this morning. My wife, Kath, and my son-in-law, Chris, walked a bit while the runs were taking place. My daughter won her division as did her co-worker, Mike. Her other friend, Tanya, placed third. Fun watching, but really made me anxious to get back on the roads. I'll be back there in a few months. The weather was perfect for running. Fun seeing familiar faces at the run. Brought back great memories. I was able to do several walks with Kath today, thanks to the great weather. Been having a great time with our new DVR on the television. Wonderful not having to sit through commercials any more. Watched the last few minutes of the Super Bowl. Much better than everyone thought it would be. Glad the Giants won. I was tired of hearing about the Patriots and how great they were. This will be my last entry for awhile. I go in to the hospital for my last chemo this Tuesday. It will be nice to have that done. I hope this goes smoother than the other three have. I will communicate on my blog as soon as I start feeling better from this last chemo. I hope the hiccups and upset stomach stay away this time. I look forward to getting back home and seeing if this DVR has worked. I have it set to record all MASH, Home Improvement, King of Queens, and Everybody Loves Raymond. As you can see I am in to all no-brainer comedies!! I will check my blog during this time when I feel up to it, but I just won't be replying until my brain is functioning up to speed. Love you all.

Dear Ron,

"...really made me anxious to get back on the roads. I'll be back there in a few months."

Thanks for your last post. Your positive feelings help me understand why we all will be feeling positive when you get through this soon.

Tell Holman he should be writing comedy. At least, that is my take on his last post. And his real name is "Honker", not "Lunker".

Smile...Laugh...Hug...Swear...Complain...I Don't Care...Just keep writing.

You are in my thoughts daily.

Again, take care, my friend...

Hello, Ron and Kathey:
We'll keep you in our daily thoughts and prayers as this last round of chemotherapy begins. We'll be in Oregon later this month and look forward to joining you for some walks and perhaps some board games (. . . if you promise to take it easy on us novices). Yours, Tina

Ron, your grace and courage warms my heart. I got you some donkey balls in Hawaii and will bring em up on our next walk together. FYI, they are chocolate covered macadamia nuts. They even had blue balls with blue chocolate!

I am with you Ron and Kath in spirit this week.
Yours, Doug

What everyone else said.

You are definitely an inspiration. When I was in 4th grade, I remember doing a little collage on my heroes. You were one of them. I have never wavered from this believe, nor will I. Every day, you give us kids another reason to look up to you. I only hope to be half the father that you have been to all of us - and I will consider that a success. I love you, Dad. I am glad that chemo is almost finished!

Now that Michael is using spellcheck on these comments I better bone up on my grammer.Hey Ron,Lets add Bobby Knight to the list of possibly OSU Basketball coaches.Ralph Miller would be rolling over in his grave the first time a metal chair was thrown onto center court.I can't even imagine to know what you are going through with this treatment but am glad that you are on your last round.Once the radiation or whatever the next phase of treatment starts, everyone that has been supporting you will continue to do so.You have my word on that,if they don't,Jay,Koelly,Blackie,Ron,Bugs
Tom and I will track them down and have a little discussion. Good times lay ahead Ron,running, appetite back, sunshine, hikes in the mountains, all the things you and your family love to do,you will be doing again. We're all starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel.

your friend,buck.

did I do OK Micheal
