February 5

Delay again. Kath and I drove to Portland at 8:30 this morning for my blood tests. The results came back and the nurse said everything looks great on paper, which is good. We got ready to check in to the hospital after that and found out that there were no available rooms. So we headed home and have to call tomorrow to see when we can get a room. On the bright side, I get to eat another meal at home and was able to have lunch at Costco. Also another night sleeping at home will be nice. Think I will hit Great Harvest for a lemon poppyseed scone for breakfast before we leave. The down side is that now the earliest I will be home is probably Monday. Again I hope it goes smoothly. Hope you all have a good end of this week and a relaxing weekend.

Absolutely ridiculous. Dad, while I am extremely elated that you were able to sleep at home one more night, and that you got some good food in you - I am upset at OHSU. They need to reimburse you and Mom for the gas that you consumed during your drive to, and from, Portland. Bastards.

I love you, and will see you soon!

Thanks for the update RC. Glad to hear you got another day of relaxation at home. I'm continued to be impressed by your strength and your attitude. I hope this last session goes well with a minimum of problems. Love ya Bud!

Hey, Ron....another curveball thrown at you. You just keep fouling those things off, and occasionally just hit one right out of the park with your great attitude! OK..enough of the lame baseball analogies, but then, as Beaver fans we really do need to start thinking "baseball" as soon as football season is over!

I'm hoping and praying that you are able to get checked into a room today and get this last session going. I'm so glad that you don't have to go for any more chemo after this!

Kath, I was also glad that you were able to get some sleep yesterday afternoon when I came by to go for a walk with Ro. You have been an amazing rock along the way, but you have to take care of yourself too!

Love you guys!

Hello, Ron and Kathey: Kudos for you for being able to see the bright side of OHSU's bungled administration. We're all pulling for you, and praying that all goes smoothly and without complication once they eventually get started.
Admiringly yours, Tina and family
